How does coaching over the internet work?
Prior to the session I will send you information about the concepts and hands we will be discussing. I’ll also include links to some PokerSavvyPlus instructional videos that cover the concepts we’ll be applying in the sessions. At the scheduled time, the session will be conducted over the internet with Skype. If you don’t have an account you can sign-up for free.
How do your small group sessions work?
Similar to individual coaching, I will walk you through an interactive discussion of poker concepts and how they apply to particular hands. While we focus on a particular concept, most of the theory work is done in advance of the session by watching some PokerSavvyPlus instructional videos. This leaves us to spend the vast majority of the session dissecting specific hands. In other words, you get an independent overview of the theory first, and then our group session focuses on how to put concepts into practice using real hand examples. My background in education helps me to keep the sessions focused and fast-paced, so that no one dominates the discussion and everyone is able to participate and gain from the session. I screen students prior to the start of the seminar to ensure everyone is of a similar skill level and will work well together.
Do I need to be a PokerSavvyPlus member?
In order to maximize the time we have in the coaching sessions, I have students familiarize themselves with the concepts we’re going to discuss by watching PokerSavvyPlus videos prior to the session. PokerSavvyPlus membership costs just $25/month, with discounts available for longer memberships, so it is a very affordable and worthwhile investment in improving your game.
What if I can only attend some of the sessions?
To make sure that everyone gets the most out of the seminar, students must participate all sessions. The concepts will build as we go, so it’s key for everyone to participate in all 5 sessions.
If this seminar’s schedule doesn’t work for you, but you are interested in group coaching, please let me know – I will offer additional sessions on this topic if there is interest.
What’s your refund policy?
I only work with only a few students at a time, and in a seminar the group dynamic is essential to everyone’s learning. Thus, I can’t accept partial registration or provide refunds if you are unable to make one of the group sessions.
With individual coaching, I can be far more flexible, and rescheduling is generally not a problem.
