The $200 buy-in for this event was actually smaller than that of the regularly scheduled tournament it replaced: the weekly $300 6-max. Still, it was an FTOPS with thousands of entrants and thousands of fish. I didn’t recognize many names at my table, but the play actually seemed to be decent. We didn’t see a lot of showdowns, but I was getting squeezed and check-raised in good spots. Eventually I saw a raise from a name I recognized in the CO, shoved QTo from my BB, and lost a flip to 44.
Fine call by him, but I lost a ton of other flips tonight, both in the Stars $300 and in cash games, where the other guy was lucky as hell to get a flip in the first place. So all in all it was a pretty annoying night. Thankfully it was over in two hours.
