Brian Rast may not have the knack for self-promotion that some of the biggest names in the industry do, but he’s been quietly winning at the highest stakes, in a variety of formats, for years. In this interview, he talks about discovering Macau, the social dynamic of nosebleed live games, and how he balances his work and family life. Oh and that call against Phil Laak.

Another great one. A unique insight to one of the games upper echelon. Seems like its only guys like him that can afford the upper elite status on RUN IT ONCE though.
Yeah another good episode, thanks guys.
Fascinating getting a glimpse into the “poker 1%”. Boy does it make you feel like a fish! Or a very break even one at least.
I realize this is a podcast, but I would really enjoy seeing hand histories for discussed hands.
It’s tough to visualize all the elements sometimes. As vigilant as you guys are I find some minor details getting missed, however. Think I rewound a few times just trying to figure out what position hero was this episode.
Is there are a reason you guys haven’t shared them up to this point?
The hand histories used to be included in the show notes for early episodes. I’m not sure why it stopped but I’d also like to see them back.
This is a good idea. Andrew and I standardly use a Google Drive document to share notes before episodes. I’ll try to make my notes in that document easy to copy and paste usefully into show notes.
Laziness. I’ll try to be better about this.
Another good episode. I liked it a lot.
Another good episode. Saw your videos on TPE and started to listen to this podcast and i really enjoy it. Keep up the good work!
One more thing… whats the name of the song at 29:09?
