My latest poker strategy article, Semi-Bluffing the River, is now appearing in 2+2 Magazine. It deals with trying to bluff people off of chops:
“I was far from confident that I could move either of them off of the second nuts, but it didn’t matter, as I was guaranteed to get my bet back no matter what. As it happened, they both folded.
There’s some well-worn poker advice about not trying to bluff in small-stakes games, or not trying to bluff people off of full houses. You might think a fold is unlikely, but far more unlikely, in my opinion, was that either would check quads on the river. That made my decision to shove a trivial one.”
I encourage everyone who reads this article to look for opportunities to try this. Post here to let us know how it goes!
