(Sorry had trouble finding a converter for PLO8)
I mean I’m no expert but jeebus, guy cold calls a 3-bet out of position with AKT8 and then stacks off with top-pair, a gutshot, and a backdoor flush draw:

This one doesn’t look so bad because he’s in decent shape against my hand, but I was representing something much stronger. I felt like with a blocker to the nut high, it was a good time to play the nut low aggressively and try to turn it into a scoop. I actually had to think about folding the turn, because I figured he almost certainly had the nut low. Gotta be careful not to give these guys too much credit:

My favorite game.
My experience has been that, as badly as they play in the cash games, they play far worse in tournaments. I suspect that because of the fixed cost, tournaments draw a lot of NLH and PLO players who otherwise rarely if ever play PLO8. In the cash games, even the fish are usually regulars.
On the first hand, I think I might have just bet the flop. I’d be more likely to go for the check-raise HU, or if I had A2 instead of A4. With A2, I worry less about giving up a free card that turns someone a big low draw. I don’t think the check-raise is bad, just not what I would do.
