Tournament Overcall

I don’t necessarily call here vs. randoms, but these two were both red pros and knowledgeable tournament players (Jon Turner and Mandy B). Against the, it’s a mandatory snap-call. Jon isn’t the wildest player in the world, but he has to be on at least 60% of his hands here, quite possibly a lot more. Mandy is going to read that range accurately enough to call at least 20%, and AJ is way ahead of both of those ranges.

  1. It looks like the hand history perverter messed something up here. There can’t be 7 folds in front of an MP1 player, and the all-in amounts don’t match the stack sizes at all.

    • Bleck, sorry about that. I fixed the worst of it, but I missed the stuff you’re pointing to. The starting stack sizes are correct, so that should give you an idea of how much the all-ins were for. PJ had less than 10 BBs, making his range extremely wide.

      • Okay, but seriously, you might want to do something about the club/spade symbol issue. I can’t tell the difference unless I use the magnifier function on my mouse, and even then I can only tell by the pixel pattern in the stem.

  2. FYI, Foucault: I didn’t have any problems with reading your hand histories before. But ironically now that you’ve changed something in order to make suits clearer for everyone, I can no longer tell the difference between suits – clubs just look like slightly larger spades, which makes it almost impossible to tell what’s going on. ??? Sorry if this causes more work for you. I still enjoy your strategy talk – it’s just more difficult to take in without a clear example.
